Today (9th September 2020) the chair of the Parish council received an email update from the leader of Thanet District Council following an earlier discussion regarding the proposed travellers’ site in Potten Street.

Dear Gordon,

As you will see if you haven’t already, we are bringing forward a decision not to proceed with the temporary traveller sites in favour of a permanent one identified through the forthcoming local plan review.

No idea where that might be, but the local plan will bring a full statutory consultation and external inspection, unlike the temporary provision, so any decision will be more robust.

I hope this gives you some reassurance in respect of Potten Street.
